In a significant judgment on 30.09.2024, the Delhi High Court ruled that two aviation service providers (the Plaintiffs) are entitled to approximately Rs. 12 Crores, concluding an 8-year legal dispute initiated by SpiceJet’s termination of the Plaintiffs’ contract for the 2016 Haj Operations. This termination, deemed wrongful by the Court, has now been exposed as damaging to the overall operations. The Delhi High Court has in an order passed on May 12, 2023, granted exclusive rights to use the brand name ‘SUGARLITE’ to Delhi Marketing, a Delhi based ‘Make in India’ firm that markets and sells Dahi under the brand name ‘SUGARLITE’, being the registered proprietor under Class 29. In a landmark judgment on Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) and Web3, Justice Amit Bansal of the Delhi High Court dismissed on April 26, 2023, a plea by Rario, to restrain Web3 fantasy platform Striker and digital gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) from using public information available on cricket players. “The plaintiffs cannot claim to have an exclusive right over the use of an NFT technology.
